A crazy week!

Oh my goodness this past week has been something else. So I'll give a quick run down and then slow down. Last Thursday night we were told that camp would be cancelled. We were also told that four of our staffers had to go work camp in Nashville. We weren't big on the idea of them being forced to, but it was out of our hands. Then Friday morning we get a call and two of our team members had to go to S.C. Others went to Nashville, a lakehouse in GA, and Atlanta. I went with Trisha to Kennesaw, Atlanta, and Athens. We were going to go down Tuesday morning to meet the others at the lakehouse. So we hung out with her family and roommates for a few days and it was a blast. The best part of the trip was driving. Of the 1300 hours we spent driving, we may have listened to 12 songs. So we did a lot of talking about so many different things, but it was good. The campus of UGA is surprisingly incredible. It is beautiful. All the buildings have big columns and it's just nice. When we got to Kennesaw and saw her mom, she asked us if we wanted to go clubbing...haha, yeah me clubbing. And Trisha is the same towards clubs as I am. But she's an interesting lady. I also drove a standard, which was interesting. I only stalled twice. I also got to see Jerry Hass at church while we were in Athens. He's a friend from the Olympics, so that was good to see him. Athens is a fun little college town. It's a lot like Oxford, just not quite as nice. But some cool local shops and restaurants. I also got to sleep in a couple different real beds, so that was great. Ok now we're on Monday. We got up on Monday and were headed down to the N. GA Outlet Mall. We were going to go shopping and head to Atlanta and go hang out downtown for a little while. On our way to Atlanta, we get a call that we may need to go to Panama City. At first we were all ticked about it. We were being forced to go and were not going to get paid, were going to have to cover our travel expenses and pay for everything as we work and that's just not right. Well we get a call back and things have changed. So first we go shopping and I'm like a woman and just buy too much stuff. We head through Atlanta which is just wonderful. Now we're down at the lakehouse with the others around 11pm Monday night. We leave for PCB Tuesday morning to help work XFuge. I wasn't real big on the camp, but that's a different story. We got hooked up! First off, we ended up getting our full pay for working a few days. Each day we worked the sales tables for literally about four hours. The second day we were there we helped take pictures on the beach for five hours, but we actually only worked about two of those hours and played in the water and beach the rest. We got FREE condos and they were sweet. We had three bedrooms, two living rooms, four full bathrooms, a kitchen, and when you walked out on our balcony you were on top of the sand! Oh dang it was sweet. I mean we go from Mobile, to Kennesaw/Athens, and end up in PCB in a condo. The people working for XFuge were amazed at how well we(those who came from MFuge) worked. We worked hard and got everything done very quickly. We got to eat some good food, for free. We also went jet skiing and swimming with dolphins for a couple hours, for free. The jet skiis were awesome. It's been a long time since I have done that, but oh my goodness it was awesome. Jerry rode with me for a little while and somehow I managed to throw him off the jet ski without me going. It was so funny to see a big man fly off the jet ski like that. Then I managed to throw us both off which was great. Nothing like having a man holding on to you for dear life because if you weren't holding on to the person you were riding with you were gone. Trisha rode with me later and she drove as well. She was a little more fun than Jerry. She actually drove fast and didn't fall off when I was driving. We left PCB Friday morning and of course did more shopping. This week has been so crazy, but it's been so awesome. Now we have campers coming again today and it's going to be a little tough getting back into camp mode, but it'll be cool. We only have two weeks left which blows. We do have a little rode trip planned for after camp, so that will be awesome. So now that I've written a novel I'm out. More great things to come.
